AREA OF GREATEST NEED: KITCHEN RENOVATION
Before COVID-19, Morningstar Relief Mission served 250 meals per week, locally. Today we are serving nearly 1,300 meals per week, countywide, through our Mobile Community Meal Program. Morningstar currently rents the Lion’s Club Hall for our cooking, meal prep and storage as the kitchen at our Water Street location is awaiting renovation because of ageing infrastructure that no longer meets the municipality’s fire code.
In response to COVID-19 Morningstar has become the community kitchen for the County: a call to which we have responded, vigorously, but one that demands efficiency in order to be sustainable. There is an urgent need to get our kitchen up and running so that we can work from one location and continue to meet the needs of a mobile meal program of this size and magnitude. Donations of any amount to this project are much-needed and will be gratefully accepted.
