Program Co-Ordinator
 
Position Summary
 
Reporting to the Executive Director (E.D.), the Program Co-Ordinator will work directly with the E.D. to ensure that the organization is sustainable and meeting the needs of those we serve.
This individual will use their creativity to support in the development of programs, volunteers, and implement the vision laid down by the E.D.
 
Morningstar Mission has seen tremendous growth in the areas of financial donations, volunteer recruitment, and community awareness. The Program Co-Ordinator will use their passion and experience to assist the E.D. to develop and strengthen the following areas: recruiting and co-ordinating volunteers, internal communications, program structure and development, donor relations, website, and social media.
 
This is a full-time contract for 12 months with opportunity for extension depending on funding, with 3 weeks vacation.
 
Responsibilities
 
Morningstar Mission is a client-centered, volunteer-driven, Christian organization. As such, the priorities for this position are program and volunteer development while maintaining the Christian values on which Morningstar is founded. The Program Co-Ordinator will support the E.D. to manage operations efficiently and effectively.

  • Program Structure and Maintenance - Morningstar delivers programs to support individuals and families experiencing poverty and isolation. The Program Co-Ordinator will assist in implementing scheduling tools, documents, and technology to strengthen the structure of our existing and future programs and further develop structure tools like google docs and sheets, program entry forms and client authorization forms. Finally, the Program Co-Ordinator will be instrumental in developing client feedback opportunities to ensure our programs are meeting the needs of the people we serve.
 
  • Volunteer Support and Co-ordination – Morningstar operates with a core team of outstanding volunteers to deliver our programs and services. The Program Co-Ordinator will assist with oversight of programs to ensure volunteers are in place for each shift across programs and empower volunteers.
 
  • Website and Social Media Development – With growing reliance on our website and social media presence, the Program Co-Ordinator  will help to develop and keep our website updated and ensure that Morningstar is using social media effectively and consistently.  The Program Co-Ordinator will also assist in the publication of the Morningstar newsletter.
 
  • Donor Development – Morningstar is funded almost exclusively by generous local donors. The Program Co-Ordinator will be a part of continuing to develop and maintain our incredible donor community.
 
Qualifications
 
Education: college diploma/university degree or equivalent experience in related sectors
